Waterproof Ultrasonic Obstacle Distance Sensor Module is a rugged ultrasonic ranging sensor designed to measure distance and detect obstacles in outdoor or wet environments using reflected sound waves.
The Waterproof Ultrasonic Obstacle Distance Sensor Module (commonly JSN-SR04T type) measures distance by transmitting an ultrasonic pulse (≈40 kHz) and calculating the echo return time from an object. Unlike standard ultrasonic modules, it features a sealed waterproof probe connected to a control board, allowing reliable operation in rain, dust, mud, or humid conditions.
The module typically operates from 5 V supply and provides a digital pulse output compatible with Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, PLCs, and microcontrollers. It supports long-range measurement (often up to ~4–5 meters depending on model) and is widely used in robotics and automation systems where standard open sensors fail.
